Introduction

This team was the first out of the Soccer Academy and in the early days was managed by Stevie Gallacher. Stevie had a considerable amount of success both by the fact that the team had quality players playing for them and for the fact Stevie is a good coach. What is pleasing that we have lost so many of this group to better things which makes it proof that the Soccer Academy has been a success and was worthwhile starting. Stevie went on to coach at St Mirren and is currently taking one of their teams. On the playing front the following players have gone onto to a higher level.

Michael Nugent – Dumbarton FC

Scott Rumsby – Rangers FC

Marcus Fraser – Celtic FC – Played for Scotland in the Victory Shield

Ryan McSherry – Hibernian FC

Jordan Danks – Dundee United FC

Steven Hutchison – Ayr United FC

David Brown – Airdrie FC

Danny Kinlan – Clyde FC

The team is now run by me, Ian Grey, ably supported by Paul Dickson, John Templeman and Jim Brown.

This team has had success over and above losing all of these players to Senior teams, winning the league at Under 14’s, pushing the Scottish Cup winners into second place, and Regional Cup winners into third. We also won the Summer Cup at 14’s and 15’s.
