Gerry McGlaughlin (Scottish)
Date of Birth: 08/03/89
Position: Defender
Previous Clubs: Hamilton Accies, Stranraer
Contract Expiry: 31st May 2010
Profile:
Signed on a pre-contract from Stranraer in early 2008 the young centre half finally joined up in the summer of that year on a two year deal. Farmed out on loan to Montrose for the first part of last season but did make a couple of first team appearances for Queens on his return and grabbed a spectacular equaliser late on at Livingston in the final game of the season. Will be looking to make more of an impact this season.
Jim Duguid
Whilst the Club doesn’t have any internationally known footballer players at the moment, this may change in the near future; we do have an ex-player doing fairly well for himself. No not Paulo Nutini, but Jim Duguid, the one to the right of Paulo, who is the drummer for Paulo. Whilst I tried to encourage him to stick in at the football he let himself go and join a group. Is there no hope for him, he shouldn’t pin all his hopes on making it a success in music. Jim was also involved with the group, Speedway. We’re pleased to see he is doing so well, as he is one of the nicest guys you could meet from the nicest and talented family. All of his brothers were involved with the Club at some stage, with possibly Steven being the daftest. Unfortunately I had to work with both of them. Fortunately I didn’t have to work with Thomas and Derek. PS Jim I think scored a wonder goal against Goldenhill down at Faifley in a 4-2, which wasn’t bad for a fullback. It was actually a forty yarder, and he didn’t have to make that one up.
